Matthew Daddario

Born on October 1, 1987, in New York City, Matthew Daddario is of Italian and English descent. He studied Business at Indiana University Bloomington. After graduating in 2010, Matthew decided to pursue an acting career.

His first noticeable role was as “Channing” in Delivery Man (2013). After that, he appeared as “Danny Ladouceur” in When the Game Stands Tall (2014), as “Gabriel” in Naomi and Ely’s No Kiss List (2016), and “Jeff” in Cabin Fever (2016). Matthew appeared in The Last Hunt (2016), a movie which he also directed and produced. Matthew was announced to play as “Alec Lightwood” in Freeform’s Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments in 2015.

Currently, Matthew is still playing “Alec Lightwood” in Shadowhunters. He is involved in another project as of August of 2017, which details are still to be announced.

Matthew won the Teen Choice Awards for Choice TV: Breakout Star in 2016 for his role in Shadowhunters. Alongside co-star Harry Shum Jr., his performance earned Shadowhunters the GLAAD award for Outstanding Drama Series in 2017.
